MUNICH (Germany) — The official draws for the FIBA Youth EuroBasket 2026 tournaments and the FIBA European Championship for Small Countries took place on Thursday, February 5, 2026, in Freising, Germany.
The ceremony was streamed live on the FIBA Media YouTube channel, commencing at 11:00 CET, giving fans across Europe a first glimpse at the group compositions for this summer's youth basketball showdowns.
Spain's Leonor Rodriguez — a FIBA Women's EuroBasket winner in 2017 — and former Belgian international Sam Van Rossom served as the special guests, adding a touch of prestige to the proceedings.
Tournament Hosts Confirmed
The FIBA Europe Executive Committee approved the following host cities for the upcoming youth tournaments:
- FIBA U16 EuroBasket 2026 — Oradea, Romania
- FIBA U16 EuroBasket 2026, Division B — Skopje, North Macedonia
- FIBA U18 Women's EuroBasket 2026 — Stockholm, Sweden
- FIBA U18 Women's EuroBasket 2026, Division B — Tulcea, Romania
- FIBA U20 Women's EuroBasket 2026, Division B — Alytus & Klaipeda, Lithuania
A total of 246 teams are registered across this summer's tournaments, with 130 men's teams and 116 women's teams taking part in the youth events — a testament to the growing reach of European basketball at every age level.
The FIBA U18 Women's EuroBasket 2026 will feature 16 nations competing in Stockholm from August 1–9, making it one of the marquee events of the European youth basketball calendar.
